Fantasy Baseball FAABlog – Week 4

Rajai Davis was was a popular pick this week, going to Scott Swanay (Fantasy Baseball Sherpa) for $112 in the MIC WARS league and to Swanay again for $70 in the Triple Crown Mixed league.

In our weekly FAABlog, we make the results of the free agent bidding from our eXpertLeagues public and offer some words of advice as well. Links to results follow this paragraph of analysis. Bids are out of a $1000 budget for the season, and FAAB is processed twice per week, once at 11 am ET Saturday mornings and once at 11 am Monday mornings.

People figure that Kevin Gregg ($129 TCNL, 78 TCM, 52 BW) is worth a few bucks to see if you can squeeze a save or two out of him until Fujikawa returns. Carlos Marmol (22 TCM) was added for the same reason. I like Gregg better. Despite being hit in the head with a pitch Friday night, the hot-hitting Didi Gregorius (12 TCM, 1 MW) was nabbed for $89 in the BLOG WARS league. Garrett Richards (19 BW), Andrew Cashner (17 MW), Hyun Jin-Ryu (13 TCM) were the mixed league starting pitcher adds this week. Eric Young Jr. (48 TCM), Nate McLouth (38 TCM), Yuniesky Betancourt (18 MW), and Nolan Reimold (16 BW) were some mixed league hitters taken this week. The big mono-league bids of the week were placed on Nick Franklin $51, Ryan Lavarnway $40, and Robbie Grossman $36 in the AL and the aforementioned Gregg, plus Jonathan Pettibone $42, Scott Feldman $16, Reed Johnson $15, and Jordan Schafer $7 in the NL.
