Fantasy Baseball FAABlog – Week 1

Jose Valverde was a popular pick after he signed a minor league contract with the Tigers.

In our weekly FAABlog, we make the results of the free agent bidding from our eXpertLeagues public and offer some words of advice as well. Links to results follow this paragraph of analysis. Bids are out of a $1000 budget for the season, and FAAB is processed twice per week, once at 11 am ET Saturday mornings and once at 11 am Monday mornings.

It’s always good to gather as many saves and possible saves as you can. With the obvious hole at the end of the Tigers pen and the inability of Axford to hit the strike zone in Milwaukee, Jose Valverde (120 MW, 73 TCM) and Jim Henderson (111 TCM, 76 TCNL, 2 MW) were sought after this weekend. If you really want one, looks like a $122 bid should get them for you. Other high bids were placed on pitchers Trevor Bauer (111 TCM) and Clay Buchholz (48 TCM) as well as Jose Fernandez (41 BW) and Andy Pettitte (23 BW). I also like outfielder Gerardo Parra (8 TCM) and catcher Chris Iannetta (1 TCM).

Here are links to the actual results:

Use the links above (just change the date in the date box once you get there) to check in right after 11 am ET next Saturday to immediately find out the results of our bidding!
